ANDY MINTZER, CPA

Andy Mintzer has over 25 years of experience as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), including 16 years at Ernst & Young auditing public and privately-held companies and providing litigation services. His engagements have involved a wide range of industries, including financial services, real estate, consumer products, entertainment and manufacturing. His litigation services experience includes matters involving accounting principles, auditing issues, damages, lost profits and fraud investigations. Mr. Mintzer has testified as an expert witness in depositions, mediations, arbitration hearings and at trials. He has served as a Special Master for a federal judge and has also served as an arbitrator.
During a residency in Ernst & Young’s National Education Office, he was the primary author of their first-year audit education program. He has taught and/or written numerous current development and technical seminars covering a wide range of accounting, auditing and financial reporting issues. For several years he was the principal author and editor of the accounting and auditing classes of the Becker CPA Review Course, the largest CPA exam review course in the world. He was responsible for course content covering auditing and accounting professional standards and prepared taped lectures for use throughout the course. He is also frequently invited to speak on accounting and auditing professional standards by the California Society of CPAs. He is also an instructor for the National Judiciary College and has taught accounting, auditing and financial reporting to federal and state judges.

ACCOUNTING AND AUDITING STANDARDS PROFESSIONAL INVOLVEMENT
Mr. Mintzer is one of
the fifteen members of the Accounting Standards Executive Committee (AcSEC) of
the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). The
AcSEC is the senior technical committee at the AICPA authorized to set
accounting standards and speak for the AICPA on accounting matters.
Mr. Mintzer has served in many leadership capacities in the California
Society of CPA’s Accounting Principles & Auditing Standards Committee
(AP/AS). The California AP/AS is
recognized as among the most active state society A&A committees responding
to most proposed accounting and auditing standards. Mr. Mintzer served on the California AP/AS committee for the
past eight years. From 1997 to 1999
he served as the chair of the committee. Prior
to that he served as chair of the accounting principles subcommittee and the Los
Angeles chapter committee. Additionally Mr. Mintzer has been a member of the
California Board of Accountancy’s Report Quality Monitoring Committee (RQMC)
since 1998. In accordance with
California’s accountancy regulations, the
RQMC randomly selects financial statements audited, reviewed or compiled
by California CPAs to determine whether they comply with applicable professional
standards. Mr. Mintzer currently
