Dr. Burt is a graduate of the Oregon Health and Sciences University College of Medicine in Portland, Oregon. She subsequently completed a combined Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency at the University of Minnesota, followed by a Forensic Pathology fellowship at the Miami Dade County Medical Examiner’s Office in Miami, Florida. After working as an Associate Medical Examiner in Miami for several years, Dr. Burt moved to Gainesville, Florida, where she wore many hats as an Assistant Professor in the University of Florida’s Department of Pathology in the College of Medicine. In addition to serving as the Director of the UF Health Autopsy Service, Dr. Burt was an Associate Medical Examiner for the District 8 Medical Examiner’s office. She also served as an Attending Pathology in Surgical Pathology, with subspecialty experience in cardiovascular, transplant, and perinatal pathology. Dr. Burt currently lives in Vancouver, Washington, and works as an Associate Medical Examiner at the Clark County Medical Examiner's Office and provides expert witness and consulting through Forensic and Surgical Pathology Consulting, LLC.

Dr. Schechter is Professor of Pediatrics and Chief of the Division of Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine, Virginia Commonwealth University and Children's Hospital of Richmond; Director of the VCU Cystic Fibrosis Center; Director of the CHOR Community Asthma Program. He has previously held faculty positions at Harvard, Brown, Wake Forest, and Emory University. He is the Immediate Past Chair of the Section of Pediatric Pulmonology of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP); Associate Editor, AAP Handbook on Pediatric Pulmonology; Former Chair of the Pediatric Program Committee of the American Thoracic Society. He is experienced in all kinds of neonatal and pediatric respiratory disease.
