The Laboratory of Risk & Safety Analyses (est. 1995) is an affiliate of the Institute of Risk & Safety Analyses (est. 1974). The Laboratory provides thorough accident assessment, technical consultation, product testing, and detailed research work. Our staff members hold degrees in Science and Engineering fields, with many holding postgraduate degrees. We specialize in reconstruction, materials, biomechanics and human factors evaluation. Our work actively involves transportation, industrial and recreational accidents, premises liability, product integrity and warnings, computer modeling and more. The nature of our work involves both litigation (defense and plaintiff) and non-litigation.

David Dickey has been an independent consultant solving process and mechanical problems with mixing equipment since 1998. Prior to starting his consulting business, he had more than twenty-three years of experience with manufacturers of various types mixing equipment. He teaches short courses on liquid mixing, powder blending, and liquid mixing scale-up through the Department of Engineering Professional Development, University of Wisconsin, Madison. He was one of the contributing editors of the new handbook, Advances in Industrial Mixing, Wiley (2015). He has published numerous articles and book chapters on both process and mechanical aspects of mixing equipment. He has also served as an expert witness in litigation cases involving mixing equipment. David Dickey received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois. He completed his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering at Purdue University. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and is a past president of the North American Mixing Forum (NAMF). He is also a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
