William G. Switalski, M.M.E., P.E. is a Mechanical Engineering Design & Safety Consultant with extensive forensic experience since 1980. He holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Mechanical Engineering degrees from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago and has been a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois since 1990.
Mr. Switalski's loss investigation and Consulting background includes product safety, consumer and industrial machinery & equipment design analysis, construction safety, premises liability, failure analysis, machine operator safety, maintenance practices, use and performance of personal protective equipment, and safety philosophy topics. Switalski Engineering Inc. was founded in 2004 for the purpose of consulting with Defense, Plaintiff, and Workers Compensation law firms in addition to Claims Investigators and Risk Management personnel.
Mr. Switalski has been active on ANSI A14 ladder safety committees since 1995. He is the current Chairman of the Mobile Ladder Stands and Ladder Stand Platforms (A14.7) standard in addition to participating as a member of the Ladder Accessories (A14.8) committee, product Labeling Task Force and Steering committee.
Mr. Switalski has over 35 years experience in the industrial/commercial maintenance field including machine repair & servicing, plumbing, electrical and HVAC. This background and experience provides unique Expert qualifications, in conjunction with education and training as an engineer, to address issues involving industrial maintenance practices, machine repair techniques, use of hand and power tools, and safety device reliance.
